where would you put North Wilkesboro and Rockingham in the NASCAR schedule?

if Brian France came up to you and asked you what you would do if he brought North Wilkesboro and Rockingham back to the scheduale where would you put them?

im guessing, Rockingham should return once a year to the second race of the season eleminating one california race. and North Wilkesboro could replace texas in either the spring (where it used to be) or during the chase (who really likes the dickies 500 anyway?)

just my opinion, what do you think?

IDK anything about North Wilkesboro because I am only 18 and I have only watched NASCAR since 2005.

Rockingham would be one of the first four races of the year.

If Brian France wanted to add more races, I would tell him to start on the WEST coast because the WEST coast does have NASCAR fans. Add a race in Nevada, Arizona, or Texas. But definitely start in the WESTERN United States. This is my opinion!

Where ever a California race falls on the schedule. Maybe even Talladega, but that’s just me. I’m one of the few NASCAR fans that dislikes plate racing.

I don’t see either track coming back on to the schedule. Kentucky, Nashville and Iowa are all better racing facilities. I would like to see California, Pocono, Indy and NH leave the series all together. These tracks just have terrible racing!

I can’t figure out why people don’t build more tracks like Bristol and Richmond. Richmond and Bristol consistantly have the best racing every year. High banked 3/4 track sounds like a recipe for great racing! That is why I see Iowa 4/5 mile track getting a cup date around 2012.

As for the plate “racing”, that can go away too! Putting 43 cars in a box and praying none of them end up in the grandstands is just a bad idea! Make both tracks lower the banking and turn them loose!

The Rock use to have the race after Daytona, and one in the fall. I would put The Rock after Daytona and Dump Bortana (oops Fontana) hey I live in Calif now, its all about dumb movie stars, Football and the blasted Lakers theres only a few real and true Nascar fans out here like me. I’d love to see Wilkesboro, they could put it where the second Pocono race is. I miss both of these great tracks, I use to go to races at both of them, I lived 10 minutes from The Rock.. I doubt we will see either of these great tracks back on the circuit as they are just not Hollywood and Corporate America type of tracks Nascar wants it sux big time.

    Go Dale Jr..Bring on 2010

JimBob, you sure have specific tastes!

I agree with the original post… eliminate the first California race (aka the 2-mile snooze) as well as one of the Texas ones.

Then again, if I had my way, the Nationwide cars would still be running at Nazareth and Pikes Peak… :)

I’d choose NW becaus it’s an older track and NASCAR haven’t ran on it since 70s I guess.

you have to be seriously addicted to crack or some other kind of mind altering drug to think any one of your answers can be taken seriously. I have been going to races since the early 70’s when as a teen ager my friends and I at the time would climb the hill between turns 3 and 4 and jump over the wall and walk down the track into the infield. Of course you could not do that today because of the security as well as the fencing, but I would love to see one of these tracks come back on the schedule, preferaably rockingham, because of the banking. As gfar as North Wilkesboro short flat track with no banking, I say leave it off the schedule and return rockingham to the schedule using one of the dated from one of the boring flat tracks with no banking at all. the flat tracks are just so boring and dull. There are alot of short flat tracks on schedule now, but I cant think of them now. Beause of the huge seating available at texas and revenues that track brings in, it aint gonna happen anyway. My vote is to eliminate chicagoland or any of the boring no banking short tracks, and bring back some of the good old racing history and re add rockingham. It was such a great track and I loved going there. Im from charlotte and always would go there. when they eliminated darlingtons both dated I was eally piseed, but thankfully they brought one of those dates back. Would sure be excited if they would do the same to rockingham. stranger things have happened.

    just my opinion as well

Anywhere in the schedule would please me. The 2nd race is not the place though for the Rock. Mid February in North Carolina is cold!! Put in May, put up some lights, people will come.

  10. Jay says:

It’s a bit off topic and not Nascar, but it is stock car racing and they will start up to 99 cars at both Rockingham and North Wilkesboro in 2010!!!!!

Real racing the way it used to be, only better.

I would probably get rid of the 2nd California race and replace it with NW. The Rock is a bit tougher though. It would be a fall race, but I wouldn’t get rid of the Texas race… I do like the Dickie’s 500. Maybe get rid of a race at Louden or Pocono?
