Yeah that would be a good idea

I think it would be a good idea…….don’t go twice to the boring cookie cutter tracks like Fontana, Las Vegas, Atlanta and Pocono

You get bored? Then watch another sport. Look, in a recession the thing is to boost “production” to get out of it….Expand the schedule…Make an East and a West Series…Open the field up to 50 cars and get all those other sponsors some track time…We don’t need less racing, we need more…Other sports can run multiple games on one day, so can NASCAR…Lets get the show running faster and stronger…

I think the schedule is fine. However, I’d love to get rid of the Chase.

Boy if the Nascar schedule was cut, I’m going to be one bored person, I wouldn’t know on what to do with myself, so I think the schedule is fine in my opinion. As for the chase, it’s a huge pain in my side, well except for the first two chases.

  6. Phat Ptony says:

26 or 28 races would be good for the drivers and the fans. Especially with October and November being full of football on Sundays.

But don’t stop there. Cut the number of drivers down to 36. And with that, allow full-time Sprint drivers a limit of 3-5 races in the Nationwide series per year. This allows the up-and-comers, as well as, the aged veterans…i.e. fan favorites a place to race. This would keep teams from being eliminated altogether.

And for the tracks losing races, don’t send the Sprint and Nationwide and Trucks to the same track on the same weekends…so often. Save that for the premeir events. Give the Nationwide to lesser tracks exclusively…or rotate…one year Sprint…next year Nationwide.

The best thing to do is to keep as many people employed in racing as possible, make it cheaper to run these teams, maintain competitive balance, and put it on in prime spots. (i.e., not against football and more Saturday night races)

If you get bored that easily, perhaps NASCAR is not Truly your sport. No they should not shorten the schedule. It is just fine the way it is. Maybe they could move the start of the NFL season for you…

  8. Richard C says:

Not as long as tracks want to pay the hefty fees for the races. The large teams will weather this economic tsunami, but most of the fields are not going to have 43 cars.

    Personally, I think that’s a horrible idea.

I’m already as bored as can be during the off-season. Less races would not be a good idea.

As someone said before me, if you get bored watching NASCAR, maybe you should be watching another sport.

By the way, not everyone who watches NASCAR is into football as well, I could care less if the end of the season conflicts with the start of the NFL season.

I like the schedule the way it is; there’s not too many races or too few, it’s just about right. Though, I could do without the Chase format.

  10. Step into the Freezer says:

I agree with you if they dump the Kansas and California speedway races (talk about borring!)

I like that the season is long but I am No fan of the “chase” or the agonizingly boring aforementioned racetracks.

I no longer care about the nfl much. too much money hemorrhaging to gangsta-wannabe losers who lose sight of the game while winging it through the bars with their guns.

  11. 88 Dominates says:

totally. but I don’t get bored during november, I stay interesting all year long. And that would make a lot longer offseason for us fans to go through. I’m having a hard time this offseason with no racin’ to watch.

Just 67 more days! hang in there NASCAR NATION!

  12. Zach says:

It would be better for NASCAR overall as far as cost. Instead of making rule changes and stupid stuff like that just shorten the schedule. But its a lot easier said then done. With sponsors and tracks that only have 1 race each season and all kinds of different obstacles.

  13. FedEx says:

NOOOOOO!!! Why cut it if some people are bored?!?!? You can watch NASCAR and NFL at the same time the worlds now gonna stop!

  14. fedup1950 says:

I think it is a great idea… cut to 26 races… cut the length of the races also… Pocono and others are WAY too long.
Also, but the field back to 35 cars. EVERYBODY has to qualify. Make it much more interesting…

  15. anewdayisreadytoexplore says:

Do not cut the number of races. Get rid of the chase.

  16. mbl says:

I hate that idea. Less races doesn’t make any sense to me in any way. If you’re “board”(I assume you mean bored), then watch the NFL. Personally I start paying to the NFL once racing season is over. Sure, expences would decrease with less races, but so would revenues!
