I also have a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 4×4. The tires that fit on my truck are anywere between 235/75/16 thru 285/75/16’s I my self love the 285 size.

I currently have 285/75/16 Geolanders on my 2001 Dodge Ram. No rubbing on or off road. I’d recommend getting a service manual for your truck if you don’t already have one. It helped me install a 2″ lift that will allow me to go slightly bigger in the tire department. http://www.promanuals.net has full factory service manuals for low prices.

The front lower rear of the fender is the issue as it will rub there. Try dodge ram forums they have all the answers to those Q.
