New Urban Style, (NASCAR Jackets)?

What is the deal with black guys wearing NASCAR jackets. I actualy seen a black guy wearing a OREO Nascar jacket. Is it because their colorful? Has anyone else seen this. I asked one guy wearing Budweiser NASCAR jacket if he like the driver…he didn’t know who the driver was. Any input on this disturbing trend..
They like NASCAR. Nothing wrong with that. Most of them that I talk to know who the drivers are. Where I am from they have Superman painted cars, Oreo cookies painted on their cars, Snickers, Butterfinger painted cars, and there is even one that has the Geico lizard car. One had an old 70’s Monte Carlo with rims so tall it was taller than my 4 wheel drive.
While it does seem odd that anyone would buy a jacket without knowing who is on it…but other than that no…I work in a big city here in NY and I know some black NASCAR fans. Maybe they like them for the fit and the colors and the warmth. Really could be many reasons.
I enjoy NASCAR, in fact I used to race Bandits (crappy compact cars) at a short track near my home. I think thats really dumb, a bunch of posers that don’t even know the sport.
Maybe that is the same as white kids wearing Rocawear and Sean John clothes, they are making a mockery of the stereotypes carried by race and fashion, trying to dress like a redneck.
Funny you should say that – I saw a woman who had a Dupont jacket and when I asked what she liked about Gordon, she said she didn’t even know who I was talking about – she just liked the colors, they were bright.
I haven’t seen this yet, but Tennessee is usually slow with trends. Everyone I’ve seen wearing NASCAR jackets were fans and could talk about the drivers, cars, etc.
I do not think they like nascar it just a coat for them a trend style they do not by it because they pull for anyone driver
What’s the problem?
NASCAR has a very diverse fan base(even though some people ignorantly believe it is a redneck sport) and that is a great thing.
Even if someone wears a NASCAR jacket and doesn’t watch NASCAR or even know who the driver is,they have the freedom to wear whatever they like and I see nothing wrong with that.Live and let live,brother.
It’s like that at my college. The most popular jackets are UPS, Fed-Ex, Dupont, M&M’s, Tide and Oreo’s. At my mall there used to be a black clothing store and they carried Nascar jackets. The jackets are in style. Even Lil Wayne has a Coors Light jacket.
What possible difference does it make who is wearing what jacket? Or what nationality or gender? If you like the jacket, wear it! I don’t see anything disturbing about it.
Why all the prejudice?

I dont’ wear FUBU or Sean Jean… they shouldn’t wear NASCAR gear… They haven’t a clue who they are wearing….. stop wearing it..
