correct. but I didn’t start watching Nascar closely until 1998….the 500 that year was the first race I watched from green to checker, and I recently found out that Harry ran the 1996 all star race in a one off for Bill Elliot…I believe the video is on here somewhere

Hell what about Ottinger he’s older than all of them!

This was an amazing race to see, I never was able to see Yarbrough or Junior Johnson race in my life till that night and I enjoyed seeing them race. But there was one driver missing during that race that I think alot of people would have wanted to he him in if he was alive still and that is Dale Earnhardt.

By the way Gant is 69 years old!! He is the man. He must know where the fountain of youth is.

  11. derrike50 says:

If Gant’s hood didn’t screw up he would have won hands down.

Sterling marlin is my favorite driver im so happy he won

Rusty’s best shot at it was the start. He was flying until Captain Donuts cut him off. Spencer had no right even being in this race. This was supposed to be for racing legends, not buffett legends.

  14. Tman5988 says:

did you even watch the video??? there was a 15 lap shoot out (after the competition caution) with Sterling first and Rusty second… where does Spencer even come close to holding Rusty up in those last 15 laps???

  15. RDarth says:

If lardboy Jimmy Spencer didn’t hold up Rusty for so long he could’ve gotten the win.

This race was fun to watch….I was born in 1990 so i never got to see cale yarborough or Harry gant race so this was cool but it brought back great memories to see rusty in the Miller Lite 2, Terry in the kellogs paint scheme, and Sterling in the 4 maybe next year The King can race in this along with Bobby Allison, How much of a kickass lineup would that be? Pearson, Petty, Allison, Yarborough, Wallace, Labonte, Gant, Junior Johnson, Ingram, and DW

HELL YEAH GO STERLIN!!!bout damn time!!!thanks for the upload!!!

Great idea but next year limit the number of years the ‘legend’ has been out of the car. Sterling still races, he is in the race today(food city 500 2009) and of course he won , rusty stopped just a few years ago, he was second, terry still races from time to time, and jimmy spencer is just a doucebag. Not that they are not ‘legends’ but it might make for a better , closer finishing race if ALL the participants were from the same era.
the SKOAL BANDIT #33 HARRY GANT great to see him race again

  22. marlinfan14 says:

Man I have followed Sterling Marlin for 20+ years since I was just 5 years old and I never been so happy to see him win. Tears of Joy fell tonight and It’s really good to see him still able to win and get out and have fun. Hope his Cup car does well tommorow at the 500. GREAT WIN STERL. Thanks for an EXCITING race.
Diehard Fan, Shawn from Toronto Canada. : )

ah man this is awesome to watch! I really wish Ingram and junior johnson would have done a little better tho! I was so disappointed today when I found out this was coming on espn2, I was hoping it was going to be on ABC after the busch (nationwide) race. Thanks for the upload though!
