If the nascar race cars are’nt built by the car manufactures why do they get credit for them?

Do’nt all the nascar race cars get built from the ground up in the Team owners garage. They should come from the car manufactures like the old days. They should be racing the same car that comes from the dealerships. Then they can do what is needed to be a race car.If the manufacture does’nt build them then they should’nt get credit for something thats not built by them.

    sponsorship

  2. Heather says:

could be sponsorship or it could be what parts they have used. or the Chasis (actual body of the car)

They give a lot of monetary support for the teams. They do a lot of research and development and build their own engine packages.

I agree with jaynarie except i would like to add that it separates drivers and owners into different groups that help each other out, but with the old car they always talked about the noses being different, which it would be illegal if you did anything to them now.

The same reason the manufactures in IRL get credit. You don’t see those cars on the product line, but honda is still plastered all over the car. Sponsorships are the main reason. Though don’t forget, all the motor parts are supposed to be manufacture parts. Also, the old saying in NASCAR: What wins on Sunday, sells on Monday.

The engines are all manufacturer specific. The cars have been for the most part purpose built race cars for 30 years if not more. Its about safety.

I don’t want to see them go back to the 60’s and race cars that are straight off the show room. The cars were more dangerous and we don’t need to see any more drivers die.

I also don’t want to see a FWD V6 family sedan flying around Daytona at 130 mph for 20 laps before the engine blows up. Street cars aren’t built for those speeds and to make them safe and reliable would add huge costs to the street version I could buy.

NASCAR is not actually stock car racing in the strictest sense. The 4 makes have different noses and supply teams with engine parts, but the chassis and most of the bodies are the same. I heard Gibbs saying that Kyle Bush won with last year’s chassis. Gibbs ran Chevy last year and are running Toyotas this year.

its a car and car sometimes have car parts from the a manufactures and it could be sponser so who knows.

    Bragging rights and MONEY!!!!!!!!

  11. Dean D says:

Sponsorship. The motors and various other parts are made by the manufacturer.

  12. FrankieColetta says:

Because each manufacture, Ford, Chevy, Dodge and Toyota, designs and makes the engine blocks etc. for there cars.

  13. monty Jackman for the 37arca car says:

also the nose and tail composite pieces, along with the hood are made be the manufatures ie. chevy, ford, dodge, toyota, the sheet frame bodies are bulit aroung these nose and taile pieces. the hoods come from the manufatures but need to be braced up because all they basicly are are a stamped form of the hooh with ni bracing.

i agree cars should go back to the days of real stockcar racing safe or not —i raced cars when all we did was throw on tires and run—man was it fun and most could afford it —know its just too expensive and less fun —yuck
