How is NASCAR allowing Johnson to do that?

Jimmie Johnson makes me sick. They’re allowing him to go faster than pit road speed as long as he backs it down when he gets to the timing lap?
That’s wrong. The other drivers are following that rule for the pit crew safety. Johnson doesn’t care about anything except himself. NASCAR needs to do something about this.
I hate NASCAR now, i won’t even watch it anymore because you already know that a Hendrick car is going to win every week. They are probably paying NASCAR to look the other way. I mean Johnson is going to win 4 in a row, how is that even possible? CHEATERS
The way they keep timing on pits is through scoring loops. They have points that they record where the drivers pass point A. They also have a point that they record when the drivers cross point B. They calculate the time it takes for a car to cross point A to point B. If a driver does it in under the calculated time then he gets fined for speeding.
One of the advantages a driver has by choosing a pit stall is that he can choose a pit stall between point A and point B. That means once the driver crosses point A he can speed because he never crosses point B until after he pits. So by choosing the correct pit stall a person can pass point A and speed to his pits. If point B is at the end of pit road then that means the driver can speed coming off pit road.
NASCAR should rely also on the inboard software (gps) that the networks use to show the TV viewers information about the car’s positions and speed. That way someone can not have an advantage of pit road positions.

They will only make it illegal when Dale Jr does it.
What ever Jimmie and his crooked crew chief do Nascar looks the other way. There is no way they don’t have a juiced car. They dilly dally around all season and then just blow every one away when the championship is up for grabs. It happens too much to be a coincidence.
They are not allowing HIM do do it, they allow all drivers to do it. If he is the best at it then oh well.
I have not been watching because I am sick of watching him win. I will not watch again until he finishes 30′th or worse in a race. If he wins the championship again this year (and I am sure he will), then I won’t watch at all next year. When the day comes where he doesn’t win a championship then I will start watching again.
None of the drivers should be allowed to do it. It’s like speeding on the highway and slamming on the brakes when you see the cop. Fact of the matter is, you were still breaking the law.
The pit road speed limit was put in place to protect the crew guys. Just because he’s not speeding when he hits the loops doesn’t mean he’s not putting people’s safety into jeopardy while he’s speeding between the loops.
Jimmie is Nascar’s poster child.. Yeah, bring on the thumbs down. They will see he gets his 4th no matter what.
Go Dale Jr.. Bring on 2010
cuz johnson is nascars baby
I thought that too…but every other driver equally has the same opportunities as Johnson and if none of them are willing to go that far and try that hard to get out front, then their not yet of the Championship caliber.
All of the drivers do the same thing…except Juan Pablo. He’s the only one that doesn’t have a clue. They addressed this issue on This Week In Nascar today and Waltrip and Biffle said that every driver/crew chief knows that’s the way to go. They even showed the yellow lines on pit road that mark the timing zones.
I f#ckin’ agree with you…I was there watching the race at MS…..according to NASCAR Now there are timing lines where it’s starts timing and he let off the gas right before he went over it.
But to me it’s still wrong.
Oh I so agree with you, Lance. Anyone else would of served a speeding penalty. Couldn’t believe the guys actually let that slip out of their mouths on the air. Also why wasn’t that caution thrown when John Andretti hit the wall just as they came to the white flag? Gee, so Johnson had 1 more shot to catch Denny, ya think.
