People get the chance to race in a grand prix by steering models of the cars round a track. M/S of a man fine tuning a 6 inch model of a car. It is for the race track which seats eight people at steering wheels up the side. They control the cars as they race round the course, it is operated by coins in a slot. Various shots of the race in progress, cars race along and occasionally crash and spin round if not controlled properly.
retards are steering like they can lolz
the old 1/24th allstate slotcars were like those, you had a controller with a steering wheel and button for gas and brakes. i sometimes see them on ebay, some of the complete restored sets go for over 800.00, and you only get about 26 ft of track.
When you got to a corner, you had to turn the steering wheel in that direction or the car stopped. Again the wheel had to be straight for the straights. It was made by American Model Raceways and used at fairs, and exibitions like the CNE Canadian National Exibition into the 70’s but replaced by hand speed controllers in slot car raceways early on. The cars at the CNE were clipped into the track and wouldn’t de-slot.
What a great video of slot car history. A genuine American blue king before they abandoned the steering wheels. Truly a fantastic find.
what’s with the steering wheel?
